Farnham Sustainability Festival 2021 and the Arts and Craft Market

Event Farnham Shop Sustainability

The Sustainability Festival which is on Sunday 23 May 2021 is the launch event for Farnham’s summer programme of events. In Partnership with Farnham Community Farm, the Festival will be a celebration and gathering of local companies and groups who are invested in Sustainability. There will stalls, live music, talks and discussions, kids’ fun and local food and drink.
Over the past four years the festival has brought together a wide variety of people who are committed to ensuring that their products and services have low or beneficial impact on the environment. We also welcome charities who promote conservation and ideas for sustainable living.
There are six ‘zones’: Environment and Conservation, Creative Response, Kids and Family, Sustainable Living, Wellness, and Food and Drink.
We have a stall there and our shop will also be open from 10-4pm!
And at the same time...
An art and craft makers market will be held in West Street from 10am to 4pm and follows hot on the heels of April’s successful antiques and brocante street market.
Complementing Farnham’s World Craft Town status, the market in May will feature some 38 stalls celebrating artists and craft makers from Farnham, across Surrey and beyond.
Local producers will also be appearing at the monthly Farnham Farmers’ Market which is happening on the same day in Central car park between 10am and 1.30pm.
Councillor Alan Earwaker, Lead Member for Tourism and Events says: “The West Street open air markets are just one example of a number of initiatives we are backing to encourage people to stay loyal and spend locally.
“The recent antiques market was very well received. Shoppers enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and liked having the space to browse safely in a traffic-free West Street. By championing COVID-secure events such as the market, we hope to encourage people to visit Farnham town centre and support local businesses.”
